| The company was established in 1959. Our core business is educational publishing for the Chinese schools, both primary and secondary. Our current staff strength is about 50 more than 30 are in the editorial and production departments. We have published for the Ministry of Education, Malaysia approximately 100 textbook titles for use in the 1,300 Chinese primary schools. We have also published more than 1000 other titles in the form of pre-school readers and activity books, workbooks, exam guides, test papers and subject references. The company also produces wall charts, picture cards and flash cards, video and audio CDs and other teaching aids to complement classroom learning. Out marketing team regularly covers of the Chinese primary schools in whole Malaysia. We maintain 300 retail accounts which provide us with more than 70% market coverage. In the year 2009, the company launched Effective Chinese Language Course using a refreshing teaching method to teach young learners the first 1000 characters. The course materials produces entirely in-house by practicing teachers have been tested in some experimental classes and proven to be highly effective. Mastering 1000 basic characters can be done in 12 months (regular daily lessons) – no cramming and hard drill! In year 2009, we established the Big Tree Publications Sdn Bhd that specializes in producing teenage and children reading materials. We had been producing a number of books for children from different age such as graphic books, comics, bridge books and novel in order to enhance the reading culture in our counytr. The company has on-going co-publishing programmers with China and Taiwan. To date about 50 titles have been published. They are mainly school library titles and teacher references. “For culture, for education, for children” is our principle. Enhance the children education and language level is our long term goals. In the future, we will keep improving and producing high quality books and teaching materials. |
