| ‘Sakila Publications’ was established in the year 1994, and up to now it has published nearly 55 books in Sinhala and English. It was registered under the Registrar of Companies in Sri Lanka in 2001 under registration No. w 75407. About 36 of the books published by the company has been approved by the Educational Publications Department of the Ministry of Education either as school texts or as reference books. Also, eight of the books written and published by the proprietor has won State Awards offered by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The proprietor is a senior member of the Sri Lanka Book Publishers’ Association SLBPA) and he bears membership No. 28 of the Association.
