| PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama commenced full activity in 1974, although the first title appeared in 1973. As a general publisher, we publish a wide range of titles which become more varied over the years. Besides our own original titles, we are open to foreign copyrights in order to produce new titles by means of translation and adaptation. We have established cooperation with more than 175 overseas literary agents and publishers, such as Hachette, Penguin, Fukinkan, Random House, Neung In Publishing Co, Shinwon Agency and Eric Yang Agency. Nowadays our publications cover Children’s books (fiction and nonfiction), Juvenile/teenage books, Novels, Graphic novels, Books on Indonesian language and literature, English Language Teaching (ELT) books, Health, Self-help, Interior design, Dictionaries, Cookbooks, as well as history, sociology, philosophy and politics. Apart from books, we publish scientific journals, audiobooks, and e-books. Annually we publish circa 2,000 titles, 60% of which are translations. We have also sold copyrights abroad, among others to the USA, Germany, England, the Netherlands, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand. |
